How to Donate Books

The Friends of the Brentwood Library would like to thank the community for an abundance of book donations. Without these donations, we could not operate our store. Proceeds from our sales benefit programs at the library.

At this time, while we are processing our influx of donations, we will be limiting donations. Book donations are accepted by appointment only. Please call 925-516-5284 or email [email protected] You will be called or emailed with a time/date to bring donations. Please do not leave donations in the book drop, library, or bookshop bins.

We do not accept:

Books older than 10 years old with the exceptions of classics and children’s books
No digital media- audiobooks, DVD’s and CD’s
No cookbooks, gardening, self-help or religion/spiritual
Textbooks, Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Time-Life books

Brentwood Library Fifth Anniversary Party

Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate our Fifth Building Anniversary, which we hosted in collaboration with Mayor Joe Bryant, Vice Mayor Susannah Meyer, the City of Brentwood, and the Friends of the Brentwood Library! Come Buy Bargain Books – November 4, 2023

The next Friends of the Brentwood Library book sale will be Saturday, November 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the library’s community room. There will be a fill-a-bag bargain sale from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The sale is one of two held this year and features a wide variety of books and other items. The sale will also feature an assortment of holiday books and puzzles, holiday classics, and children’s, fiction, cookbooks and many of todays’ bestsellers. The sale is the largest of the year and will be include other special discounts!

Brentwood Library 5th Anniversary Party

The Friends of the Brentwood Library is proud to help our Library celebrate it’s 5 year anniversary. It’s hard to believe it’s been 5 years since the new building opened.

We hope you will join us for the celebration on Saturday, September 30th from 10 am to 12 pm.

There will be cake, crafts and a special storytime featuring guest reader, Mayor Bryant!

Friends Celebrate at Celebrating Brentwood

The Friends of the Brentwood Library enjoyed being recognized July 30 as a finalist as the Non-Profit of the Year category at the Celebrating Brentwood recognition dinner organized by the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce.

Brentwood Literary Stroll Was a Huge Success

More than 200 book lovers gathered in Downtown Brentwood May 7 for the Friends of the Brentwood Library Literary Stroll. The stroll was funded with a grant from the City of Brentwood and supported by the Downtown Coalition. People visited 10 businesses to hear presentations from 10 authors.
