Insiders Program from Elaine

The Friends of the Brentwood Library play a crucial role in supporting the library programs. The money goes towards funding various programs. I would like to shine a spotlight on one of them…the Insider program and the remarkable individual who has brought it to life…Adelia Sheffer, library assistant.  Adelia’s unwavering commitment to providing meaningful experiences is nothing short of inspiring.
The Insiders offers people with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to socialize and participate while working on various arts and crafts activities. An average of 75 participants throughout the county generally attend. 
At its core, the Insiders program is a beacon of inclusivity. inviting individuals of all abilities to come together in a welcoming environment. By providing a safe and welcoming space for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to explore, learn, and connect, the Insiders program plays a pivotal role in promoting social inclusion and enhancing quality of life. 
I have had the privilege of volunteering in the program and witnessing firsthand the impact of our funds and what they have made possible. Funds from the Friends have enabled this program to thrive. Speakers and visitors have come to provide entertainment and activities. 
Supported by the dedication and generosity of the Friends of the Library, the Insiders program continues to thrive and expand its reach, making a profound difference in the lives of participants and their families.
